Special Dietary Needs

At Sun Devil Hospitality, we know that eating well helps fuel studies and activities that make your college experience happy and memorable. You'll find options that fit your wellness goals and dietary needs throughout ASU and beyond the dining hall. Look for the icons listed below to help identify healthy options. We are committed to nourishing all guests by providing nutritious options, that fit each need. No matter where they dine on campus. If you have a food allergy or special diet, please notify the Campus Dining Dietitian and management team so they can develop a plan and help you navigate the dining hall. 

All eight of our dining halls feature stations devoted to meeting your dietary needs and preferences. Daily Root, is a station that offers at least three plant-based entrees, made to order, and dessert options every service. The True Balance station features a complete meal option made with the top 9 allergens. Kosher Dining

We have two certified Kosher stations at the Tempe Campus - under the supervision of Rabbi Shmuel Tiechtel, Director of the Rohr Chabad at ASU. A Mashgiach is onsite at all times. These stations are the Kosher Bistro at Hassayampa and Chick-In at Tooker House Dining Hall. 

Dining Hall Experience

Halal Dining

The grills at Tooker, Hassayampa, Pitchforks, Gordon Commons, Citrus Dining Pavilion and Verde Dining Pavilion use Halal boneless chicken breast for our chicken options. There are instances where substitutions are made due to supply-chain shortages, so please make sure you ask the Grill Cook if the chicken is Halal.

Gluten-Free Dining

True Balance is a station where our dining team prepares special selections from ingredients without most common food allergens. Here you’ll find delicious dishes made without several of the most common food allergens – egg, milk, peanut, tree nuts, shellfish, sesame, soy and wheat - as well as gluten.*

Vegan and Vegetarian Dining

Each of our dining halls has a Daily Root Station - which is entirely vegan and served at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In addition to these options, there is a variety of vegan & vegetarian options such as our salad bars, black bean burgers and more! Do not hesitate to reach out to a supervisor for further questions.
